Zunfthaus zur Saffran
Limmatquai 54, Zurich
The opening lecture and dinner on Friday, October 28 will be held at the Zunfthaus zur Saffran, the home not only of the oldest Guild in Zurich but also the first to have its own location. The original Guild built its own house in 1417. The present three-storey Guild House building at Limatquai 54 was built between 1719 and 1723 in the Regency style, an early form of Rococo, and stands in a row of five medieval buildings facing Zurich’s City Council Hall. It is a special privilege to celebrate the Zurich Lecture Series at this historic location.
