The opening lecture and dinner on Friday, October 26 will be held at the “Zunfthaus zur Schmiden” (Guild House for Blacksmiths), a beautiful city palace located since 1412 at “Marktgasse 20, close to the Limmat River in the heart of old Zurich. The sumptuous late-Gothic Guildhall and the historic rooms with style, warm hospitality and tradition will make you feel welcome. It is a special privilege to celebrate the Zurich Lecture Series at this grand location.

Friday, October 26, 5:30 pm: Reception; 6:15pm: Lecture; 7:15-9:00pm: Three-Course Dinner.

ZLS 2017 Lavater

at St.Peter’s Church St. Peter-Hofstatt 6, 8001 Zurich

More lectures will follow on Saturday, October 27 at the Lavatersaal located at St. Peter’s Church. The Lavatersaal is in a classic 18th century building that belongs to St. Peter’s Church, which boasts the largest clock face in Europe. The house is named after Johann Kaspar Lavater (1741-1801), a good friend of Goethe’s and whom Goethe visited several times at this location.

Foyer St. Anton at St. Anton’s Church
Klosbachstrasse 36A, 8032 Zurich

A special Theater Event: “The Analyst and the Rabbi,” an original play written by Murray Stein and Henry Abramovitch, will be performed on Monday, 29 October at Foyer St. Anton located in St. Anton’s Church. The church, built between 1906 and 1908, was designed by the famous architect, Karl Moser, in a creatively conceived further development of the neo-Romanesque style. He was also the architect of the Zurich Kunsthaus. See the following Postlude information for details.
